Jill Townsend
Jill’s husband threw her out of the house the day she found out she was pregnant with their fifth child. Her husband was addicted to methamphetamines, and it just tore their life apart. She’d been a stay-at-home mom for 10 years raising their kids. Just before Christmas of 2005, she gave birth to Noah – this was the first time that her husband wasn’t there for the birth of one of his children. She came home from the hospital that night. It was just Jill, her newborn son, and three young children. Being in so much pain from the C-section, she could barely walk. It was the worst Christmas ever.
Jill had given up her career to raise their kids. She was able to find work as a waitress until she slipped and fell and injured her shoulder. In the next 90 days, she lost her job, her income, and was evicted because she could no longer pay rent. She used to have a normal life like everyone else; husband, family, a nice home, a good church. She never thought that she could lose it all so quickly.
At the House of Hope, Jill knows that God is in control and she is gradually getting her life back. She now has a chance to get away from the financial pressures and concentrate on being a mom to Noah and Tara. “The House of Hope gives you so many tools I never had before, and so much reassurance,” Jill says. Now, she is creating a life she didn’t think she could have after her marriage fell apart. She’s now looking forward to seeing what God has in store for her next.

The above story is yet another real example of a real life that has been filled with HOPE by a combination of compassionate giving, hands-on ministry and the grace of God. Thank you for your role in bringing it to pass.
